I too suffer form this. I live in Boston and have found someone that has been doing this for over 20 years and is now fitting me for the hybrid hard lensses that have soft rims and hard middles. Please read how to take care of your lenses on the kerat site and only use boston simplus, not advanced solution. and do not ever rub your eyes after you take them out at night or you will scratch you cornea and make it very painfull when you wear them. I can get you my docs name if you have any questions. take care

One more thing on Sysnergeyers KC: I highly recommend using CibaVision's "Clear Care" hydrogen pereoxide disinfecting system for maximum comfort. It's a very simple system, and once the automatic neutralization process is over, all that's left is saline solution which doesn't irritate your eye like the typical "multipurpose" solution can (due to the disinfecting chemicals.)

I'm a 40 year-old-male who was diagnosed with keratoconus at about age 20. Up until about 2007 I was wearing RGPs, but they finally became way too uncomfortable. They also popped out about once per day due to the edge lift cause by the steep cornea.
In 2007, I tried Synergeyes KC, and after a pretty long fitting trial (due to inexperience of the optomotrist and me), we found a set that worked well.
Now I have to say that I am thrilled with the Synergeyes. They are supremely comfortable -- and I wear them for around 16 hours per day. They never pop out. And my vision is reasonable -- it's certainly not perfect, but good enough. I highly recommend them.
